Methods to Claim Your Winnings

Kerala lottery Department has allowed many facilities to claim the winning amounts in many methods according to the prize amount of each lottery. There are some formalities to clear to claim of  higher prize of Kerala lotteries while it is very easy in the case of lower prizes of Kerala lotteries.

CLAIM PROCEDURE OF A KERALA LOTTERY WINNING  
WHICH IS MORE THAN RS. 1 LAKH.

The winning ticket of the Kerala lottery those win more than Rs. 1 Lakh shall be surrendered directly before The Director of Kerala Lotteries, Thiruvananthapuram. The winner should affix his/her Signature, Name and Address on the provided space in the back side of the Kerala lottery ticket. More than this the following documents are to be submitted for the direct claim from the Kerala lottery office.


1. Original winning Kerala lottery ticket with signature, Name, Address of the winner duly filled in the space provided. 

2. A claim application form duly filled. (You can get the form of Kerala lottery claim application from Kerala lottery offices / You can also download a sample format by clicking here).

3. Two Passport size photographs of the prize-winner duly attested by a Gazetted Officer/Notary.

4. A receipt for the prize money in the prescribed form affixing a revenue stamp worth Rs.1/- with full address of the prize-winner. (Download the form here).

5. If the prize winner is a minor, Guardianship certificate from a competent authority.

6. In case of joint claims, one of the prize-winners should be authorized to receive the prize money and a ‘Joint Declaration’ in stamp paper worth Rs. 50/- should be executed.

7. Self attested copy of the PAN Card.

8.  Attested document to prove identity ( Attested copy of Ration Card, Driving License, Passport, Election ID Card etc)


The prizes above can also be claimed through Nationalised, Scheduled or State/ District Co-Operative banks. The prize winning ticket should be surrendered to the bank with all the above documents, if necessary. The bank should submit the claim to the Director of State Lotteries with the following certificates:

A. The letter of Authorisation from the prize-winner (download)

B. The certificate from the receiving bank (download)

C. The certificate from the collecting bank (download)



CLAIM PROCEDURE OF A KERALA LOTTERY WINNING  
WHICH IS Rs. 1 LAKH or LESS THAN Rs. 1 LAKH.

The Kerala lotteries those win a prize of Rs. 1 lakh or less shall be produced before The District Lottery Officer of the relevant district. The winner of the Kerala lottery should undergo with all the documentation said in earlier points 1 to 8. The winning amounts after the deductions, if any, will be awarded to the prize winners of Kerala lottery result after the verification of the prize winning Kerala lottery and other documents. The winnings of Kerala lotteries are awarded as Cheque or Demant Draft in lump sum in these winnings.

CLAIM PROCEDURE OF A KERALA LOTTERY WINNING  
WHICH IS Rs. 1 LAKH or LESS THAN Rs. 1 LAKH.
CLAIM PROCEDURE OF A KERALA LOTTERY WINNING  
WHICH IS Rs. 5,000/- or LESS THAN Rs. 5,000/-.

If the winning amount of the Kerala lottery is Rs. 5000/- or less any Kerala lottery Agent can receive the ticket and pay the winner of Kerala lottery the winning amount but he is not liable to do so. The Kerala lottery agent can submit the winning Kerala lottery ticket to the relevant Kerala lottery district office to claim it. The Kerala lottery agent is supposed to state that whether he has already paid the amount to the actual winner. Though Kerala lottery agents are not liable to collect the Kerala lottery winning tickets, We have seen them do the claiming of Kerala lottery winning tickets happily. So it is better to approach a Kerala Lottery Agent to en cash your Kerala lottery ticket winnings for smaller amounts.   

Tax Details : 
For prize moneys more than Rs. 10,000, income tax at prevailing rate will be deducted and credited into the central government account. As of now, an Income tax of 30% will be deducted for all the prize winning claims exceeding Rs. 10,000/- For the agents  prize claims an amount equivalent to 10% of the claim will be deducted as income tax. Presently no surcharge or educational cess is deducted as per the Income Tax rules.

** Prize winning tickets above Rs.1 Lakh and upto Rs.20 Lakhs shall be passed for payment by the Deputy Director(Prize) and that above 20 lakhs by the Director.
