If you are a novice you may be a little confused. Don't is a detailed description how to claim your winning in Kerala weekly lottery "Akshaya".

The prize claim procedure of Kerala lotteries differ according to the prize money you have won. This is to facilitate the small prize winners from complicated prize claim formalities. Where as in the cases of huge prizes there will be more formalities like verification of the winning ticket, Income tax formalities, Kerala lottery agent commission deductions, Identity proof verification etc. So it will be a lengthier process. Let us have a look in the process of Claiming a Prize in Kerala Weekly lottery Akshaya. Let us start from the last prize for connivance of explanation.
8th Prize : Rs.100/-:
8th prize of Akshaya is granted for a maximum of 54,000 tickets by drawing last 4 digits 60 times. If you have matched any last 4 digits published in the result of Akshaya and won this prize. Just contact a Kerala Lottery Agent and hand over the ticket to him he will pay you One Hundred rupees. Many people take new tickets instead of cash which also helps the lottery seller. Please note that the agency commission in this category is 20% of the prize money and is paid to the Kerala lottery agent who has purchased the ticket from the Kerala lottery office. So the Kerala lottery agent to whom you exchange the winning ticket may not get anything from the transaction. So buying 1 or 2 tickets may urge him to exchange the winning.

7th Prize: Rs.500/-:       
7th prize of Kerala Weekly Lottery Akshaya is determined by drawing last 4 digits 28 times. There may be 25200 winning tickets maximum in this tier. If you posses a ticket which matches any one of these last 4 digits you are entitled to a prize amount of Rs. 500/-. There will be no deductions from your prize amount. 10% of the prize amount is given away to the Kerala lottery agent from the government fund. Here also it's better to approach a Kerala lottery agent to en cash your winning lottery.  

6th Prize: Rs.1000/-:  
6th prize of Kerala Weekly Lottery Akshaya is determined by drawing last 4 digits 22 times. The number of prizes in this tier may go up to 19800 depending up on the sale of the tickets. There will not be any income tax or agency commission deductions from the winning amount. The winning amount may be collected from any Kerala lottery agents.

5th Prize: Rs.2000/-:
5th prize Rs.2000/- of Akshaya lottery is decided by drawing last 4 digits 10 times. There may be up to 9000 winning tickets. Again no tax, no commission deducted. The prize amount may be collected from any Kerala lottery agent, but he is not obliged to do so.
4th Prize: Rs.5000/-:
4th prize Rs.5000/- is decided by drawing last 4 digits 12 times and providing the prize up to 10800 tickets. There will not be any deductions of income tax or Kerala lottery agency commission. The prize amount may be collected from any Kerala lottery agent.

3rd Prize: Rs.10,000/-:
As far as Kerala weekly lottery Akshaya is concerned the 3rd prize Rs.10,000/- is awarded up to 90 tickets by drawing last 4 digits once. No Income Tax or Kerala lottery agency commission for the winning amount of this tier. This prize can be collected from the respective District Office of Kerala Lottery Department. Some documents are needed to collect this prize, which are explained at the end of this post.

2nd Prize: Rs.2 lakh/-:
There will be 10 assured 2nd prizes of Rs.2,00,000/- to one each in a series. You may know that there are 10 series in a draw of Kerala lottery Akshaya. The first deduction from the prize amount will be Kerala lottery agency commission of 10% of the prize amount. Then again 30% from the remaining amount is deducted as income tax and directly paid to the central government account by the Kerala lottery department. Thus the final amount to the winners of this tier of prize will be almost RS.1,26,00,000/- in lump sum. The tickets should be presented to the Director of State Lotteries. The Payment may be passed by the Deputy Director (Prize).

1st Prize: Rs.65 Lakh/-:  
The first prize 65,00,000 is awarded to a ticket common to all series. The winner may directly submit the winning ticket to the before the Director of State Lotteries,

There will be Kerala lottery agency commission & Income tax deductions from the winning amount. As usual 10% of the prize money is deducted first and after a 30% of the remaining amount is deducted.

1. Rs,65,00,000 - Rs.6,50,000 (10% Agency Commission) = Rs.58,50,000.
2. Rs. 58,50,000 - Rs. 17,55,000 (30% Income Tax) = Rs. 40,95,000.

Thus the final amount will be a lump sum of Rs.40 Lakh 95 Thousand rupees. The Kerala lottery agency commission Rs. 6,50,000 will be awarded to the agent who purchased the ticket from the District office of Kerala lottery after Income tax deductions. Both the Income tax deductions will be paid to the income tax department by Kerala lottery department itself.

Details of documents to be submitted to the Kerala lottery department while you make a claim directly.

1.A claim application along with a Photostat copy of both sides of the ticket, self attested.

2.Two Passport size photographs of the prize-winner duly attested by a Gazetted Officer/Notary.

3.A receipt for the prize money in the prescribed form affixing a revenue stamp worth Rs.1/- with full address of the prize-winner(download).

4.If the prize winner is a minor, Guardianship certificate from a competent authority.

5.In case of joint claims, one of the prize-winners should be authorized to receive the prize money and a ‘Joint Declaration’ in stamp paper worth Rs. 50/- should be executed.

6.Self attested copy of the PAN Card.

7.Attested document to prove identity ( Attested copy of Ration Card, Driving License, Passport, Election ID Card etc)

Prize amount can also be claimed through Nationalised, Scheduled or State/ District Co-Operative banks. The prize winning ticket should be surrendered to the bank with all the above documents, if necessary. The bank should submit the claim to the Director of State Lotteries with the following certificates:

1The letter of Authorisation from the prize-winner (download)

2The certificate from the receiving bank (download)

3The certificate from the collecting bank (download)

Tax :
kerala lotter For prize moneys more than Rs. 10,000, income tax at prevailing rate will be deducted and credited into the central government account. As of now, an Income tax of 30% will be deducted for all the prize winning claims exceeding Rs. 10,000/- For the agents  prize claims an amount equivalent to 10% of the claim will be deducted as income tax. Presently no surcharge or educational cess is deducted as per the Income Tax rules.

**kerala lottery Results  Prize winning tickets above Rs.1 Lakh and upto Rs.20 Lakhs shall be passed for payment by the Deputy Director(Prize) and that above 20 lakhs by the Director.
